Lots of people are now using Facebook from their mobile phones. If you ever find yourself asking questions about Facebook mobile while near a computer, you can go to Facebook’s mobile pagefor much of the same information. To get started with Facebook Mobile, you first need to enter and confirm your phone number in the Settings page:
Choose Settings from the Account menu (down arrow) in the upper-right corner of the big blue bar on top.
Click the Mobile tab on the left side of the page.
Click the green Add a Phone button.
You may be prompted to reenter your Facebook password. When that’s all squared away, the Activate Facebook Texts dialog box appears.
Choose your country and your mobile carrier.
If your carrier isn’t listed, you may be out of luck using Facebook from your mobile phone.
This brings you to Step 6, which you actually have to do from your phone.
From your phone, text the letter F to 32665 (FBOOK).
FBOOK texts you back a confirmation code to enter from your computer.
This can take a few minutes, so be patient.
Enter your confirmation code into the empty text box.
Choose whether you want your phone number added to your Timeline via the Share my Phone Number with my Friends check box.
When users enter their mobile numbers, it allows you to access Facebook as a virtual phonebook. If you’re not comfortable with that, simply deselect the check box.
